Leona's

map

Leona's is a family-owned chain restaurant that's been around since 1950. Their River North location is right next to the "L" and feels like what a person with a kitschy sense of humor thinks an Italian restaurant should look like. There are the requisite checkered tablecloths and tiffany-style chandeliers, but there are also neon signs galore and clever phrases on the outside windows.

The menu is quite extensive and offers several vegetarian items. Leona's prides itself on making 72 items from scratch and using as many natural and free-range products as possible. Pizza is their mainstay, and that's what you want to order. That and the "Psychedelic Salad" are the premier offerings. Leona's offers a delivery service that's been recognized as one of the best in Chicago.
